About The Vagabond Studio

You clicked the 'About' tab, so I'm assuming you want to know a bit about this little blog and I? The Vagabond Studio's official mission statement is 'to inspire others to live creatively, beautifully, and sustainably, and that really is the main focus. But, to sum it up in one perfect word, The Vagabond Studio is about peace - peace within ourselves, peace within our communities, and peace with our environment. Don' let that 'peace' word fool you - you will find very little yoga and meditation type calming goodness on this blog (I leave that for my living room), and I would probably run screaming if someone asked me to hold hands and sing around a campfire. Here at the studio, we are often overly-excited, enthusiastic, and encouraging.

As for me, my name is Shai and I am a 27-year-old mom, student, business-owner, blogger, and artist.
In the real world, I have been married for almost a year to someone I've known for (gulp!) twenty. We each brought two kids into our Vagabond Family: ArtistChild (8), OneFish (6), TwoFish (4), and Ninja (almost 2). The oldest and youngest are 'mine' and the middle two are 'his' but, really, all four of them are just 'ours'.  I am a full-time Political and Social Philosophy student at Kennesaw State University, and am also minoring in Peace Studies. I'm Buddhist, though I rarely mention it - 'peace' is sort of a way of life for me, and an aspiration I love to share with others. When I'm not in class, chasing kids, working on blog projects, or spending time with my family, you can find me assembling upcycled paper/brooch bouquets and hair accessories for my Etsy.

Erm....I like long walks on the beach, even longer hikes through the woods, Indie music as well as 60's-70's music (specifically The Beatles, Three Dog Night, and Journey), and reading anything and everything I can get my hands on. I really miss having teal/purple hair, and I'm obsessed with pandas.

So...that's me! Now, tell me a little about yourself! ♥

  2. Hello, Laura!!! I love that you accidentally found me and we live in the same little town! ♥ Those pictures were taken last month, and it was actually the first time I had used the old building for photos - hard to believe, right? lol. I normally do ours at White Oak with all the big ol' trees. Nice to meet you!
